The dam is a homebred mare by San Amour who was the dressage champion of his performance test, becoming a premium stallion at Vechta, and the price highlight of the ensuing auction.

Vitalis has already sire 33 licensed sons, with several becoming Premium stallions. One of the most well known is Valverde ridden by Eva Möller, who became German Champion and came fourth at the World Championships for young dressage horses. Villeneuve with rider Dorothee Schneider was Vice World Champion. Victoria's Secret became 2016 World Champion in Ermelo after winning the German Championships the year before.

Vitalis was Champion Foal in the Netherlands in 2007. He won the dressage index of his stallion performance test. Vitalis was placed at the World Championships and Pavo Cup final. In 2016, ridden by Isabel Freese, he won the Burg Cup Final in Frankfurt and the "Stallion of the year" competition at Inter I level at the World Championships in Ermelo.

Vitalis was Vivaldi's first licensed stallion. His dam Tolivia was the 3-year old Champion Mare in the Netherlands. She's The One's sire is the legendary Bundeschampion and Dressage World Champion, Sandro Hit, a stallion who has founded a new dressage breeding dynasty with numerous incredibly successful offspring. Sandro Hits dam Elite Loretta is one of the most influential breeding mares of all time producing three top stallions all by different sires – Sandro Hit (by Sandro Song), premium stallion Royal Hit (by Royal Dance) and Reserve World Champion and Reserve German Young Horse Champion Diamond Hit (by Don Schufro).

Sandro Hit has over 160 licensed sons including Stedinger, Show Star, Sandreo, San Remo, Samba Hit, San Amour, Sunny Boy, Soliman de Hus, Swarovski, Sir Donnerhall, Santana, Samarant, Serano Gold, St Moritz, Sarkozy, Scolari and Sorento.

The dam sire Rubin Star is an Elite stallion who stands at Romanno Stud. He won his 100 day performance test with 10s for temperament and willingness to learn. Rubin Star N was highly placed in the Bundeschampionat final and was a successful Grand Prix horse. He also scores highly in his heritability assessment for dressage. His sire is Rubinstein who was one of the most influential sires of modern dressage horses. Rubin Star N's dam, State Premium Carella, was by Ramino, who also won his performance test. His full brother Magic Ronaldo is very highly placed on the Dutch dressage index and was Oldenburg Stallion Approval Vice Champion.

The grand dam is Donnatella who is sired by the world-famous dressage stallion Donnerhall, out of a State Premium mare by Pik Bube, an extremely successful combination. Donnatella was bred by the stud which had Donnerhall, the "Groenwohldhof stud". Donnatella is graded with the British Hanoverian Society and passed her mare performance test. She was brought to Britain as a foal and competed in affiliated dressage up to Elementary level. She is the full sister to the top stallion Don Primaire who has a high dressage index among with high scores for both conformation and movement. Donnatella has a Verban Premium full sister who is being successfully bred from in America by embryo transfer and has produced a State Premium daughter.
